About Us
 In 1972, Allen Katzen decided to open a wine making supply shop in an indoor mall called The Garage in Harvard Square, MA. He decided to name his store Soft As A Grape. At the time Soft As A Grape was located across the way from a t-shirt shop where business was booming! Reality struck Allen; kids in Harvard Square didn't want to make wine, they wanted to drink it. Realizing there was more business in t-shirts than wine making, Allen set up shop on Cape Cod, MA and began printing and selling t-shirts to natives and visitors alike.
Since then Soft As A Grape has created an entire line of women's clothing in cotton, linen and other fabrics, as well as expanded its line to include clothing for men, juniors and kids. Our most famous line of cotton clothing is made from the best cotton thread to create our one-of-a-kind silhouettes. Our SuperSoft collection is made from 100% ringspun combed cotton. This traditional spinning method creates a fabric that is super soft, super easy to care for and most importantly, super comfortable. Also, out entire line of our cotton collection is made in the U.S.A.
 At Soft As A Grape, our design team extensively researches the fashion market to establish a color pallet that is fashion forward and in-style. We have body styles that are fashionable, comfortable and make a fresh addition to any wardrobe. Each one of our garments is either pigment or garment dyed in today's fashion colors.
The corporate office and warehouse facility is now located in Wareham, MA. There are three 12-head embroidery machines and a 14 color automatic press at this facility. Also, we currently operate 9 retail locations throughout Massachusetts and Florida. We also have nearly 1000 wholesale accounts nationwide.
Our years of experience have made us award winning printers and leaders in the printing industry. From the simplest single color print to complex four-color process prints, no one can print better than Soft As A Grape.
Now for the truth behind the name; someone was once quoted as saying it was a "soft idea" to open a wine-making supply store in the first place! These days the only thing soft around here is Soft As A Grape's comfortable, casual clothing.
